Worth a read:

  • The Washington Post has hired its first accessibility engineer, who will work to solidify the Post's tools and processes for making its content more accessible. It is one of the more public postings of this type, which have become more common.
  • Hundreds of media outlets have shut down in Venezuela since Hugo Chavez was elected in 1998. Lack of funding and government-enforced closures prompted a wide migration to digital media, which has exploded in recent years.
  • Elon Musk set Twitter's press email to auto respond to questions with nothing but a poop emoji. The policy is part of a larger trend from Twitter and Musk's other companies to ignore questions from journalists.
