The GIJN Conference moves online
It's time for another event, hacks and hackers! Registration is now open for the Global Investigative Journalism Conference, happening virtually from November 1-5.

Worth a read:
- Poynter conducted a survey of 167 journalists and found that the definition of journalistic objectivity is changing. More journalists want to be engaged in activism separately, like on social media, but maintain that journalism’s first obligation is to the truth.
- The Data Visualization Society is conducting an anonymous survey on the state of the data visualization industry through September 22. You can view results from the 2020 survey on their GitHub page here.
- This blogpost from Towards Data Science demos four Python libraries that can assist in building interactive timeseries plots, a type of chart that’s grown in popularity with charting pandemic-related data.
