HH Taipei and GIJN opportunities
Hacks/Hackers Taipei recently celebrated their sixth anniversary at their Annual Sharing Session.
Also, the deadline to apply for a fellowship to attend the Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden is February 28. Any journalist from a developing or transitioning country can apply, and the fellowship covers travel, registration and meals for the conference, which will take place September 19-22.

- A data fellow at The Marshall Project wrote about how coding changed her journalism process by making it easier for her to replicate analysis work and generating multiple story ideas from creating databases.
- Journalists in LA started an event series called Perspectives to gather civic organizers with journalists to share a variety of perspectives on how to better serve their community. They wrote about how they did it and how it helped their journalism in this blogpost here.
- GIJN wrote some tips on how to report on scientific findings, including adding context on how a single study relates to the body of knowledge on the topic and using language that accurately conveys the strength of the study’s evidence.
