There are also a few days left to apply for The Lenfest Institute’s collaboration grants, which award up to $25k each to bring Philadelphia-area organizations together for a news project.

- The Economist recently unveiled a new weekly print section dedicated to highlighting the best of its data team’s visual storytelling (Medium)
- Niren Tolsi delivered a fire-themed lecture last week about media in South Africa. As Jason Norwood-Young wrote in Naked Data, "It is a burning indictment against modern journalism; a searing take on social media; and sets fire to a few bridges along the way … It is enlightening, and important, and very, very good." (Jocoza)
- A Reuters Institute study found that poorer people in the UK consume less news than wealthier people, especially online (NiemanLab)
