NICAR goes hybrid
It's almost 2022, hacks and hackers! The first conference on our list for next year, NICAR, has announced it is going hybrid.
Investigative Reporters and Editors is offering scholarships for both the in-person and virtual events.
Worth a read:
- Nieman Lab published their annual list of predictions for what the next year holds for journalism, with topics like remote work, industry inequality and digital subscription growth.
- This Towards Data Science writeup explores how to extract song data from Spotify’s API and use Python to do exploratory data analysis and build song recommendation algorithms.
- It’s a struggle to articulate general rules when creating data visualizations, so Nightingale found a happy-medium between establishing rules and accepting exceptions by creating network diagrams for questions like “Do I need a zero in my chart’s scale?”
