Worth a read:

  • The Partnership on AI reached out to nine journalists and other media stakeholders for their thoughts on the future of AI in journalism. The respondents shared that AI may help with context, personalization, but also, as Hacks/Hackers Researcher-at-Large Connie Moon Sehat put it, "authoritarianism."
  • Citelearn, an open source project developed through our related WikiCred initiative, helped flag "citation needed" statements on Wikipedia. Expanding it to journalistic or scholarly articles, though, would require a shift in thinking from collating existing research to citing research to form new statements.
  • Data visualization has always been considered art, at least in some circles. The LatAm Journalism Review spoke with data journalists, infographers and designers to understand how Latin American journalists are using art to help tell stories.
