The brand new Media Party Chicago has opened its call for proposals for journalists, developers, entrepreneurs and civic hackers to lead workshops and lightning talks related to media innovation. The first stateside Hacks/Hackers Media Party is happening June 8-10th, and the deadline for proposal submissions is March 31st! Registration

MuckRock is opening a second round of Gateway Grants for projects that use DocumentCloud to inform readers and/or preserve access to public records. This round of grants will total $50,000 for DocumentCloud-related projects and $150,000 for journalism projects overall. Applications are open for the next few weeks.

Hacks/Hackers Taipei recently celebrated their sixth anniversary at their Annual Sharing Session. Also, the deadline to apply for a fellowship to attend the Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden is February 28.
