- The U.S. Census Bureau’s Open Innovation Labs opened applications for its StatVentures initiative which seeks proposals on how to improve its supply chain data. Applicants have until December 2 to submit concept proposals and can receive $10,000 if their ideas are chosen to advance to Phase II.
- The Pivot Fund is a philanthropic organization that supports independent BIPOC-led community news outlets through grants, trainings and collaboration opportunities. Their first round of grant funding invested $2 million into seven news outlets across the US state of Georgia.
- Former NYT Executive Editor Dean Baquet is launching a yearlong fellowship for local investigative reporters to receive training, funding and resources to tackle an investigative story idea for their community.
