A wonderful moment happened last week: Hacks/Hackers folks from all over the world met up in London at MozFest to brainstorm the future of Hacks/Hackers. They chatted about how they what Hacks/Hackers mission, structure and activities could look like in 2017. The week ahead for Hacks/Hackers:

• In Buenos Aires, the group brings together several speakers on “cybersurveillance, big data and human rights.”
• Hacks/Hackers Miami learns about ethical hacking from FIU Professor Alexander Pons.
• Hacks/Hackers Mendoza, Argentina, takes part in a two-day event about innovation in the media.
• In Birmingham, UK, there’s a hackday about football agency data on ownership and networks.
• The Sydney group attends a networking event at the Storyology festival.
• In Nairobi, the Hacks/Hackers community gathers with Refunite and the Humanitarian Data Exchange to talk about the global refugee crisis, and how hacks and hackers within Africa can help. (Inspired by The 19 Million Project hackathon in Rome)  
• The Paris group hears about three different intersections of journalists and robots: recommendations, semantic analysis and automated writing.  
• Hacks/Hackers Berlin hosts an event around dealing with trolls (government and ordinary citizen trolls) and image verification.
