• Hacks/Hackers IRE in Columbia, Mo., will hear about research into the page load times of news websites.
• In Los Angeles, the group will hear about three projects during a Show and Tell with the L,A, Times Data Desk.
• In Lima, Hacks/Hackers chats with the Electronic Frontier Foundation about defending digital privacy.
• The Hacks/Hackers group in Munich holds an event where they’ll learn about three topics: Tableau, explanatory journalism platforms, and using style guides in design.

Group spotlight: Hacks/Hackers Buenos Aires

Hacks/Hackers Buenos Aires has more than 5000 members on Meetup, and held its 50th event this past week. The group held its first event way back in April 2011. More recently, you might’ve heard about the awesome (and well-attended) Media Party that the group hosted in August:
